We started SheStyles in 2021 to provide fashionable clothing donations, with a personal touch, for girls in need.

Simply put, we were cleaning out our closet during the pandemic, after not being in school (in-person) for almost a year.  We had been doing school remotely, basically in our sweats and PJs. Once it was time to start wearing real clothes again, we realized we had a lot of clothing in like-new condition, barely worn, that we had outgrown. We wanted to donate these items, but in a personal way.  Instead of putting the clothes in bags and dropping them off somewhere,  we wanted to personally connect with girls and provide style options that reflected their individual identities.  We knew from our own experiences that appearance can really affect self esteem; we wanted all girls, regardless of hardship, to have the opportunity to have choices and feel proud of the way they looked.

Everyone should be able to experience the exciting, empowering feeling of putting on a new outfit that feels right. Plus, it's fun to be able to go to shopping and come away with a bag containing new clothes that are hand-picked.

That's where we came up with the idea of SheStyles, and the pop-up shop experience.

By personalizing the clothing donation process, we can boost self image and confidence, while providing an essential need for young women.
